Kit Carson Lodge :)

So I arrived my work place, KCL, at the 11/6/11.
I was supposed to take bus from Sacramento to Placerville, where the employer would pick me up. But I was so stupid that I didnt realize the bus I was planning to take is not gonna be in Sacramento on weekends, so I had no choice but to take cab to Placerville, which costed me 100 dollars!!!! Can you imagine it??? I spent 300 ringgit just to take a taxi for 40mins!!! That is crazy blood sucking!!! The fee is 3 dollars per mile...oh my.. that is super super super expensive!!! My heart was beating so fast when staring at the meter. Actually it was about 150 dollars when I reached Placerville, but the taxi driver was so kind to give me discount, so he charged me 100 dollars. But it's still expensive lar... :(  I didnt tell anyone here, because I feel i'm so so stupid and silly. lol Anyway, I will try to earn the money back.. hopefully i can T.T

The daughter of the employer, Amanda, picked me and the other Vietnamese girl, Ly, from the Placerville station. Then we headed to her house after she shopped for the groceries for the lodge. The wife of the boss, Ximena, is really nice, and she speaks Spanish! :) She provided us boots and jackets so that we won't have to buy them, which would probably cost us lots of money. After helping them to get everything needed for the lodge done, we went for lunch at In-n-Out. The burger is very big and the fries are super nice! I really found that things in America always are in bigger sizes. lol

So after eating, we headed to the lodge. It's like 1.5 hours driving from the place we had lunch. On the way, I kept wondering how cold it would be there because it's really sunny in other places of California. When I actually reached there, then i knew, it's really cold!!! Snow is everywhere!!

They told us there is chipmunks, bears, wolfs and foxes around this place.. and I was like Woahhh.. I hope I wont be their dinner or supper when I sleep. lol
After the tour around the lodge, we went back to the room because it's too cold out there. We have a heater that keeps us warm in the room :)
Dinner was good, we have a professional chef to cook for us. He really is a good cook!
They said this is an abnormal June for the lodge, because the snow just doesn't normally appear after 2nd week of June. And they are having problem with water supply now, so the lodge is not open yet until they get everything fixed. Hence we have to walk far away from our room to a cabin called Beaver just to take a shower or to brush our teeth because it is the only place with water supply so far. :( and i got frozen on the way back to the room after shower.. phew....
So it's time to sleep, tomorrow start working!
